The P.A.S.S.O. Association, a long-standing promoter of sporting events
for physically and mentally handicapped people, is an association that
collaborates with others in the sporting activity field in order to
combat suffering and marginalization.
The Association has also promoted 6 regional
tournaments of football-therapy with the participation of 15 mental-health
departments of the Piedmont and whose original and unique formula has
been extended over the national territory.
It’s leader in wheelchair tennis. The “PASSO” has already
organized in Cuneo 3 Italian Championships and 4 International Tournaments.
The association counts over 300 members from all over the Region and many
of them have distinguished in the fields of skiing, archery and hand bike.
But “PASSO”’s activity doesn’t limit itself to
field games; it goes further.
Suffice to remember the regional information campaign on sports for disabled
people and the close collaboration with Turin University in the research
in the medical, social and economic fields regarding the problems of handicap.
In the promotion field, “PASSO” operates in close collaboration
with the Special Olympics International (SOI), with the FISD (Italian
Federation of Sport for Disabled), with ASL and ASO (local medical and
hospital service), with SIRP (Federation of Italian Psychiatrists), above
all in the field of experimentation of sporting-therapeutic activities.
